1. Gran Cenote

2. Cenote Calavera (Temple of Doom)

3. Cenote Zacil-Ha
A relaxed, family-friendly cenote with a restaurant, zip line, and plenty of space. Less crowded than Gran Cenote and great for a half-day visit.

4. Cenote Aktun-Ha (Car Wash)
Named because locals used to wash their cars here. Deep, open cenote surrounded by jungle. Popular with divers. The lily pads on the surface are magical during rainy season.

5. Casa Cenote (Cenote Manatí)
An open-air cenote connected to the sea via underground rivers. You might spot manatees! Located near the beach road — combine it with a beach day.

6. Cenote Cristal & Cenote Escondido
Two cenotes on the same property right off the main highway. Cenote Cristal is open-air with jumping platforms. Cenote Escondido is more secluded. Perfect quick stop.

7. Cenote Corazón del Paraíso
Heart-shaped when seen from above, this cenote is a hidden gem with turquoise water and jungle surroundings. Less touristy than Gran Cenote.
8. Cenote Sac Actun
Part of the world’s longest underwater cave system. Perfect for snorkeling through cave passages. Dramatic stalactites and crystal-clear visibility.
9. Cenote Dos Ojos
One of the most famous cenotes in the Riviera Maya. Two connected sinkholes with incredible underwater visibility. Great for both snorkeling and diving. About 20 minutes north of Tulum by scooter.
10. Cenote Taak Bi Ha
A cave cenote near Dos Ojos with fewer visitors. Peaceful, stunning light beams, and excellent for swimming.
Tips for Visiting Cenotes by Scooter
- 🛵 Most cenotes are within 15 minutes by scooter from Tulum
- 🗺️ Download offline maps — some cenote roads have no signal
- 💧 Bring water, sunscreen, and a towel
- 🚫 Don’t wear sunscreen in the water (it harms the ecosystem) — most cenotes provide biodegradable options or ask you to rinse off
- 💵 Bring cash — most cenotes don’t accept cards
- 🔒 Lock your scooter at the cenote parking area
- 🚵 For unpaved cenote roads, a mountain bike is the best option
